Material removal

Material removal applications are a common part of most manufacturing processes and include tasks such as grinding, deburring and polishing.

With the flexibility, repeatability and extreme precision of six-axis robots it is possible to grind, trim, polish and even clean almost any part, in any material to achieve a consistent high-quality finish for every part.

The two main approaches are either for the robot to hold the part or the tool. It is also possible to have two robots (or up to four) working together for ultimate flexibility. One robot holds the part, while the other manipulates the tool.
